“Let's dive right in. How much research do you typically do for your books?”

Well, to be honest, I don't delve too deep into research. So, sweet f*ck all. I mean, I write fantasy, right? As long as the world I create feels somewhat realistic, I think we’re good to go. Occasionally, I’ll look up specific details like knots or swordplay to ensure accuracy, but overall, it’s pretty straightforward.

“That’s fascinating. So, let’s talk about writer’s block. How do you handle it when you encounter it?”

Ah, writer's block, the bane of every writer's existence. When it strikes, I find it helpful to pick a new starting point in the book and move past it. I can always come back to it later when the inspiration flows more freely. That’s the beauty of writing. There’s no time limit.

“Absolutely. Inspiration. Where do you draw inspiration from for your stories?”

Take your pick. Inspiration can come from anywhere, really. It’s like someone jokingly asked me the other day if I found an idea just by looking at a blade of grass. While that hasn’t happened (yet!), I find inspiration in a myriad of places. Sometimes it’s a fleeting thought or a dream, other times it’s sparked by something I’ve read or heard. The possibilities are endless.

“Yet? So there’s still a possibility it may happen? Fascinating! Now, what initially inspired you to write?”

Well, I actually began writing when I was just eleven years old. It was purely for fun, and I managed to write half a book. As an adult, however, it was Brent Weeks’ Night Angel Trilogy that truly inspired me. After reading those books, I thought to myself, “Hey, I could create something similar, something that could transport readers to a whole new world.”

“And that you do. Your world building skills are phenomenal. Now, moving on to book reviews. How important are they to the success of an author?”

Book reviews are incredibly important. They play a crucial role in helping readers discover new books and authors. Without reviews, how are people meant to know if a book is worth their time? I'll admit, I do spend a bit too much time getting caught up in them, but ultimately, they are vital for an author's success. With that being said, please go and review all my books! Jokes! But, seriously!
